If you choose to track marketing patterns, you may append the link as follows, using the optional "type" and "term" fields (highlighted in burgandy, replace "{variable}" with your custom values). For example, you might decide to use "type" to indicate the location where a link appears (website, email, blog, etc.) and "term" to indicate marketing campaign or some other attribute.
